Her Uniqueness through L.O.V.E. is thrilled to announce the winners of our Black History Essay Contest, held on Saturday, May 18, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This contest was created to empower young girls by fostering a deep appreciation for African American history and culture.

2024 Winners

Skylarr Yearby - 3rd Place

These talented young writers impressed us with their insightful essays, each one highlighting a remarkable Black American who has made an indelible mark on history. From well-known trailblazers to unsung heroes, their unique perspectives shed light on the diverse and profound impacts of these figures.

During the program, the finalists were tasked with sharing their essays with the audience members. This opportunity allowed them to not only showcase their writing skills but also to connect with the audience and convey their passion for the subjects they chose to highlight.

The contest invited participants to share, in 500 words or less, which Black American inspired them the most. The girls' essays demonstrated not only their writing abilities but also their enthusiasm for exploring and preserving their heritage.

We are proud to support these young girls as they delve into the rich tapestry of their history and carry forward its lessons and legacies.

Her Uniqueness through L.O.V.E. congratulates all of our contestants and look forward to next year's speech competition!
